It’s one of my missions to get more guys into Yoga. I had experiences doing pole fit for a bit and felt so uncomfortable.
I was the only guy in class, no one spoke to me and I felt completely shit and left out as they were doing all their contortion stuff up and down the pole. I feel your pain boys!
Whats great to see is that there is a real even split of men and women in Bikram class.
Guys love the physical nature with the command driven style of the practice but in commercial gyms the take up for guys in regular class is still shocking.
Maybe because the timetable for yoga and more physical forms is so weak and not available?
Guys, please remember this….
It’s easier to build flexibility if you are strong like a beef jerky. Being flexible like a noodle and having very little strength is ten times harder to enjoy balance and create strength.
So there you have it. Guys you have the biggest head start!
